So, it was the Chinese New Year holidays and my mum wanted to a plan a family getaway to a destination that wasn't too far since my dad couldn't take a long leave from his work. A few weeks prior to the trip, she kept suggesting Hanoi as the ideal destination at the time since we could only go for a 5 days-trip.  For a long time, that was the agreement.
