Indulge @ TGV Cinemas, 1 Utama

If you enjoy all things fine in life, then Indulge is definitely a place for you. Known to be the "Gourmet Cinema", Indulge is the perfect spot for you to enjoy both a good movie and food in one place. Yes, I'm talking about real first-class food and not just popcorn and a coke (though if that's what you want, they've got those here too - in fact, probably better!).

The moment you step into the doors of Indulge, you'll already feel the exclusivity in its overall interior as well as its friendly staff who are smartly dressed and at your service.

Once you've bought your tickets or claim them for those who've booked online, you'd notice that even the tickets adds that exclusive touch. Its tickets can even pass off as a boarding pass to catch the next flight out! (I guess that was the kind of feel they were going for). 2 tickets for the classic Lion King! One of my favourite Disney animation movies, hence why I decided to "Indulge" in on the experience.

There's only two halls in Indulge, Indulge 1 and Indulge 2 as they usually select the biggest movies to be played here. Our movie was played at Indulge 2. Once you enter the hall you'd be greeted with ample of space and comfort seats which can recline and be adjusted according to your preference. Not only that, you're even given a thick blanket for when it gets chilly during the movies!

Image 5: Indulge Seats

As you can see from Image 5 (to be completely honest, this photo doesn't do it justice as I didn't have enough time to take a proper shot), the seats provided at Indulge will make you consider on never going back to watching movies at the standard theatres! The seats are so comfortable that I can't even guarantee that you'd stay awake for the entire movie!

For those who opt for a movie + dining set, you can choose to dine in during the movie and at the comfort of your own seat. As for those who did not book the dining set, you can always order an a la carte meal or beverage at the Indulge lounge before entering the hall or even just order it via the iPad placed in the theatre hall at the left corner of the table for couple seats and at every table for standard seats.

Once you've placed an order, someone will send it in to your seat in just a few minutes. Talk about first-class service! You wouldn't have to move a single inch from your seat - and who would want to if you're watching Lion King!

Once the movie ended, we made our way to the Dining Lounge to have our lunch. For those  who would like to know more details on Indulge and the packages they offer, refer to their official website below:

We booked the Twin Weekend Dining Set which was priced at RM149 including RM1 booking fee as we booked our tickets via TGV app.

Image 7: Indulge Menu

The Dining Set included one starter or dessert and one meal for each person.  Now what I can definitely conclude from my dining experience at Indulge is that the food served here is much much better than I expected. Not only does their menu selection consists of an extensive range of gourmet dishes, they have a substantial amount of fancy drinks too!

Image 8: Indulge Bar
For those who did not purchase the dining set, fret not as Indulge still opens orders to walk-in customers who may choose to dine in before or after their movie. Below is Indulge TGV 1 Utama's menu:

As you can already see, Indulge offers a vast range of Starters and Mains. For those who opt for the Dining Set Package (which was the one I purchased), Desserts will not be included. However, you can still order them if you wish to do so but pay per dessert price as stated in the menu.

Beverages

Image 9: Strawberry Shake
The usual drinks served for the Dining Set would be a fresh Ice Lemon Tea, but I was given a Strawberry Shake on the house as a friend of ours worked here. I would say that the Strawberry Shake is the perfect drink if you're slightly hungry and thirsty at the same time because the drink its quite filling.

Price: 12.90

Verdict: 4/5

Starters

Image 10: Sesame Mushroom Tempura

We started off with our starters. First, the Sesame Mushroom Tempura - fresh mushrooms fried lightly in speciality sesame batter. A perfect starter if you're looking for something light to snack on before your main meal. Also, it comes with a side of sauce that compliments perfectly with the fried mushrooms.

Price: RM 9.90

Verdict: 3.5/5

Image 11: Salted Egg Chicken Strips

Our next starter - the Salted Egg Chicken Strips. If you're big on the whole "salted egg" hype that's been going on recently, then this dish is one to consider trying. The Salted Egg Chicken Strips consists of juicy chicken strips fried to golden perfection and is coated with speciality salted egg sauce. Yum!

Price: RM 14.90

Verdict: 4/5

Mains

Image 12: Cajun Salmon

To be completely honest, the moment I saw salmon on the menu I didn't quite bother looking at the other dishes they had (I simply cannot resist Salmon!). So, me being me I chose the Cajun Salmon for my main dish. A crispy skin pan-seared Norwegian salmon topped with cajun lime pesto, served with mixed vegetables, cauliflower puree and signature herb butter.

Price: RM29.90

Verdict: 4/5

Image 13: Spiced Lamb Shank

As for his main meal, he chose the Spice Lamb Shank - a slow cook spiced lamb shank served with fragrant rice and sautéed beans. The perfect combination of spicy and sweet. Also highly recommended if you're really hungry and if you're a lamb lover!

Price: RM 34.90

Verdict: 4/5

Since we were so full from both our starters and main dishes, we decided to skip out on dessert (though I was really tempted to order the Apple Delight. Indulge offers three dessert options which is not included in the Dining Set package. But if you happen to still have space in your stomach - order away!

So there it is, the "Indulge" experience. I would say that Indulge is the perfect place for couples to go on dates as you can experience both a good movie and a dining experience that you can enjoy together. Indulge even organises something new and exciting for special occasions from time to time - Valentine's Day being one of them.

But who says the whole experience are for couples only? If you're looking to treat yourself after a long week, spend some quality bonding time with your friends and family - Indulge is the place to be. You will definitely be guaranteed to an ultimate gourmet cinema experience!
